Heavy creosote build up removal service
It is becoming more and more common for people to burn wood on their open fires and wood burning stoves are becoming very popular. Creosote can easily build up in a chimney or flue, especially if "green" or wet wood is burnt regularly. If left this build up turns rock hard and is highly flamable resulting in an incresased risk of a chimney fire. Creosote chimney fires are known to be particularly viscious and burn extremly hot with a high risk of major damage to your appliance or property.
The United States has far greater experience than us here in the UK regarding creosote build up and the problems it causes. They are also ahead of us in the techniques of removing such deposits. This is probably due to the UKs tradition of burning coal in greater amounts than wood, but this is changing!
Here at Mamore Chimney Sweeping we are working to catch up with the latest technology and techniques for dealing with heavy creosote deposits in chimneys and flues.
We are currently working on a package for those customers that require significant work to remove heavy deposits. Whilst still in the design stage we are likely to offer a fixed quote price which will include the following:
Mechancial/Manual abraision prior to chemical treatment.
Chemicals for the customer to continue treatment during normal use of the appliance.
Further, repeated (as necessary) manual sweeping to remove creosote deposits.
Chemicals for customer to use regularly to reduce future build up of deposits and negate any further agressive/costly work.
