CARBON MONOXIDE (CO) ALARMS
A carbon monoxide or CO alarm protects you and your family from the potentially fatal effects of carbon monoxide poisoning. Sadly this type of poisoning is increasing in the UK, mainly as a result of badly installed/serviced gas appliances but ANY solid fuel appliance can produce carbon monoxide. It is odourless and colourless and results from incomplete combustion of fuels. It is known as the silent killer.
The latest building regulations require that any solid fuel installation must have a carbon monoxide alarm installed in the room which has no removable battery.
