Help For Heroes - Sept 2011
We are now registered as an official fundraiser for Help for Heros. A collection tin will be available to all customers should they wish to donate to this worthy charity. Hopefully by year end we will be able to report just how generous the people of Lochaber have been. We will post the total amount collected here and more than likely will be doing the same next year and trying to beat it!
Price Increase - August 2011
Unfortunately due to the ever rising cost of fuel, insurance etc. and the large distances we cover to reach some of our customers we have finally had to increase our prices. We are proud to have kept our prices the same for the last 2 1/2yrs, (how many other companies can boast that!).
As a guide, customers in and around Fort William, Strontian etc. will pay £35. Customers further afield will pay more (depending on where you are). Discounts are still available for multiple sweeps in the same location if arrange by the customer. A £15 charge is still made for roof access where required. Please ask for the price when booking.
Xmas 2011
As usual our Xmas break will be for two weeks from 24th December.
Chemical Creosote and Tar Removal: (status: ongoing)
Chimney cleaning products are available which claim to remove/reduce chimney creosote and tar. We are currently engaged in research into a much improved version of this which is not readily available in the UK. Our aim is to provide a reliable method of chemically modifying and removing chimney creosote and tar whilst at the same time being non-corrosive or damaging to either metal flue liners or maisonry chimneys. As of March 2011 all is going well so watch this space and we will advertise the service when it's available. We believe in the appliance of science!
