OBSTRUCTIONS
Chimneys and flues can become blocked by a number of things including:
Broken maisonry and building debris
Bird or rodent nests
Wind blown debris eg. twigs, leaves etc.
Obstructions in the chimney or flue are dangerous as they can ignite (if combustible) and cause a chimney fire. They can impede the passage of flue gasses and reduce an applicances effiency and promote deposit build up. They can also totally block the flue and prevent gasses and smoke from escaping at all which will result in smoke billowing back into the room.
All of these situations are dangerous and must be rectified as soon as possible.
We have various hooks and gadgets that we can use to remove debris and obstructions, either from the bottom or the top of the property.
